The other day I was at the airport.  As I waited to pass through the security checkpoint, a uniformed Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officer approached me.  He handed me a card and thanked me for my cooperation. 

Both he, and the card, explained that TSA used the card to monitor how long it took me to get through the security line.  I returned the card to a colleague of his after passing through security, but before I did so, I took a picture of it.

Below is what a similar card, to be distributed by the yet-to-be-announced Home Price Maintenance Administration (HPMA), will look like in 2009.

Date and Time:    January 31, 2009 10:03 AM

Hello:

I am a representative of the Home Price Maintenance Administration.  HPMA is the government agency responsible for keeping your home price up. 

Please take this time-stamped card and help us determine how long it takes for you to (check as appropriate):

Please give this card back to the HPMA representative at your lending institution or courthouse (as appropriate), who will direct you to the next available x-ray machine, fingerprint recorder, and metal detector. 

When you return this card, we will again time-stamp it to see how quickly we are getting you through the mortgage, home equity line/loan, or foreclosure process.

Thank you, in advance, for helping us to make sure that we are giving you the service that you deserve.
